This monthly service provides benchmarks for retail bank investment services program productivity, revenue, profits, and revenue mix. The report differentiates between productivity of full-time brokers and licensed branch bankers. Bank-by-bank comparisons are provided on a blind basis, and the report computes benchmarks for the average bank investment services program as well as the average broker selling in a bank environment.

Participating banks provide data by the 25th of the month following the month being monitored. A one-page questionnaire is emailed to participants (usually around the 15th of the month) to complete and email or fax back. The Monthly Monitor report is generally emailed back to participating banks during the first week of the next month. For example, the questionnaire for September is completed and returned by the 25th of October, and the September report is provided to participants during the first week of November.

The monthly data are aggregated quarterly and analyzed for the Quarterly Productivity and Performance Report published by the Bank Insurance and Securities Association.
