Kehrer-LIMRA Financial Institution Investment Program Benchmarking Study
Financial support provided by Symetra Financial

This annual benchmarking study compares bank retail investment services programs on the most critical performance measures. These include sales, revenue, and profit penetration, sales force and other expenses, sales revenue mix, broker and licensed banker productivity, customer complaints, sales force turnover, and other management concerns. It compares retail investment programs in banks, S&Ls, and credit unions, which collectively account for more than half of all bank retail investment sales.

Each participating bank investment services program is compared on a blind basis, where each bank knows its own code. The individual bank benchmarks are also summarized by:

  • Average, median, and top and bottom quartile performance
  • Type of program (broker-only or hybrid)
  • Type of institution (bank or credit union)
  • Bank size (community, super community, regional, and super regional/money center banks)

This study has been conducted every year since 1991. Financial institutions use it to identify under-performing elements of their investments services program and to identify best practices.

The study is based on our annual Financial Institution Investment Program Benchmarking Survey, which we also analyze for the Credit Union Brokerage Study and the Community Bank Brokerage Study.

Price: $1,500 (discounted for participants and community banks/credit unions)
